1.
The hirers of buildings must at all times provide adequate and
satisfactory supervision to all parts of the building. This is
particularly important when the building is occupied by persons
under the age of 18 years.
2. The hirers
shall be liable for payment of all charges arising out of any
damage to, or loss of, property and/or equipment as a result of
the occupancy of the premises, such charges being assessed by
the Greater Glasgow Scout Council whose decision in the matter
shall be final and binding.
3. Cancellation
charges are payable in accordance with the scale shown on the
charges sheet where a party making a booking subsequently cancels
it.
4. Any damage
or loss shall be reported to The Manager immediately it occurs
or is discovered.
5. Every care
shall be taken when using equipment which can easily be damaged
if misused; if any doubt exists as to the operation of any item
of equipment, please ask the Warden for advice.
6. All groups
are asked to take every care to conserve electricity, gas and
heating oil.
7. Boiler
rooms, gas stores and electric cupboards/fuse boxes are out of
bounds to all members of the hiring party. Any defects in the
heating systems, electrics etc. must be reported to The Manager.
8. Prior to
the building being vacated, the leader of the hiring party will:
- advise
the Manager of their intended departure time and invite him to
inspect the premises before departure;
- ensure
that the building is thoroughly cleaned in accordance with the
information detailed on the sheets displayed in each building,
further copies of which can be obtained from Reception. Suitable
equipment and materials will be provided by the Manager.
9. Breakages
to, and loss of, crockery or cutlery must be reported and paid
for.
10. In the
case of bookings by Scout Groups, the residential experience must
be conducted in accordance with the current issue of Policy,
Organisation & Rules of The Scout Association and the
leader-in-charge must hold the appropriate Nights Away Permit
which they may be asked to exhibit.
