Booking Conditions and
Essential Information

1. The hirers of buildings must at all times provide adequate and satisfactory supervision to all parts of the building. This is particularly important when the building is occupied by persons under the age of 18 years.

2. The hirers shall be liable for payment of all charges arising out of any damage to, or loss of, property and/or equipment as a result of the occupancy of the premises, such charges being assessed by the Greater Glasgow Scout Council whose decision in the matter shall be final and binding.

3. Cancellation charges are payable in accordance with the scale shown on the charges sheet where a party making a booking subsequently cancels it.

4. Any damage or loss shall be reported to The Manager immediately it occurs or is discovered.

5. Every care shall be taken when using equipment which can easily be damaged if misused; if any doubt exists as to the operation of any item of equipment, please ask the Warden for advice.

6. All groups are asked to take every care to conserve electricity, gas and heating oil.

7. Boiler rooms, gas stores and electric cupboards/fuse boxes are out of bounds to all members of the hiring party. Any defects in the heating systems, electrics etc. must be reported to The Manager.

8. Prior to the building being vacated, the leader of the hiring party will:

  • advise the Manager of their intended departure time and invite him to inspect the premises before departure;
  • ensure that the building is thoroughly cleaned in accordance with the information detailed on the sheets displayed in each building, further copies of which can be obtained from Reception. Suitable equipment and materials will be provided by the Manager.

9. Breakages to, and loss of, crockery or cutlery must be reported and paid for.

10. In the case of bookings by Scout Groups, the residential experience must be conducted in accordance with the current issue of Policy, Organisation & Rules of The Scout Association and the leader-in-charge must hold the appropriate Nights Away Permit which they may be asked to exhibit.
